Dear {NAME},
We are very keen to report on the exciting new developments that have been taking place at CAROLE NEVIN DESIGNS since the beginning of the year:
MAGHREB COLLECTION
This collection takes it's inspiration from the textures, colours and shapes of West Africa, Algeria and Morocco. Hand printed and hand painted designs in this range comprise the following;
Madingo Stripe - available in a range of warm colourful stripes fused with geometric patterns come in three colour ways (Fynbos, Slate & Clay Stripe). This is not an entirely printed range and there are variations in colour and texture. This fabric can be purchased per metre for curtaining or a full range of products are available in these designs - tablecloths, placemats, serviettes, cushion covers, aprons, teacosies and ovengloves.
Zalenga Mural - this is available in Sage Green, Blushing Burgundy and Charcoal Grey - this particular design takes its inspiration from West African Wall Murals and will be sold by the metre for curtaining and upholstery and we'd be more than happy to make up cushion covers in any size you'd like.
Arabesque - available in Charcoal and Burgundy, takes its inspiration from Morocco. This is a delightful addition to the range whose soft lyrical lines contrast beautifully with the African geometrics and compliment the hand painted Pomegranate.
Pomegranate - Last but definately not least is our beautiful pomegranate design. This fruit is rich in the folk lore of the Middle East. A symbol of fertility and passion, Jewish tradition teaches that the pomegranate is a symbol for righteousness, because it is said to have 613 seeds which corresponds with the 613 mitzvot or commandments of the Torah. For this reason and others, many Jews eat pomegranates on Rosh Hashanah, symbol of fruitfulness. You will soon be able to purchase items in this design at www.carolenevin.co.za and at our V&A Waterfront store, as usual we will keep you informed.
In the meantime, it's available at Tapenade in the Cresta Shopping Mall in Johannesburg. Click here for contact details.

NEW COMPLIMENTARY CANDLE COLLECTION
Talented wax artist from Inspirations of Africa, designer and owner, Dawn Perosino has in collaboration with CAROLE NEVIN DESIGNS created a beautiful range of candles to compliment our linen. These candles are currently available in most designs featured in our African Range and they've been selling phenomenally well at our shop as well as online.
EASTLAKE FABRICS
We have launched new flat-bed hand-printing company, EASTLAKE FABRICS as a joint venture between Carole Nevin and Rod Davison. The new company allows the Carole Nevin group to provide fully vertically integrated capabilities from design, product development, hand-painting, hand-printing, curing, sewing and packaging. The company also adds curtaining and upholstory linen products to the existing table, kitchen and bed linen. Eastlake is still in it's infancy and yet is already designing and printing for some of the best known names in the local textile industry such as St. Leger & Viney, Mavromac, Jay Smith Collection, Carol Mills Fabrics and the highly talented, up-and-coming, young architect/designer Lorenzo Nassimbeni. We hope to build excellent relationships which will continue for many years to come!

PROMOTIONS
We recently had a website promotion which saw customers paying 50% Less on ALL Carole Nevin linens and it was a great success! So much so that all stocks were sold out. We are still running this promotion at our V&A Waterfront store in conjunction with our centre court display which will be ending on Tuesday, the 13th of July, so if you're in Cape Town please visit our store as soon as possible, before it ends. Customers who live in other parts of the country or overseas can contact our store via email at waterfront@carolenevin.co.za or call them at the store on +27 (0) 21 425 2507 to find out if they have the stock available for you (they can post it to just about anywhere in the world).
CAROLE'S RECIPE OF THE MONTH...
Seeing as we provide you with beautiful linens with which to dress your table, we might as well recommend some culinary delights to go on top.
THAI BUTTERNUT SOUP
I felt like some butternut soup with a difference the other day, checked in my pantry and found the following ingredients to throw together a delicious soup. I do not have the patience to follow a recipe and tend to cook by feel and taste. Monica, my niece has forced me to pen my very first recipe. Play with the ingredients below and see what you come up with. Quantities of coconut cream will depend on whether you want a creamy soup or not, the same applies to the chilli paste. If you don't have green chilli paste, use fresh or dried chilli for that matter. Chop some coriander into the soup and if serving for guests, decorate with coriander and a dollop of coconut cream. Oh, by the way, you can saute your onions etc, with coconut butter (which is incredibly healthy for you) instead of olive oil. The trick is to adjust and sometimes we just have to make do with what we have in the pantry.
1 Large butternut
1 Medium Onion
Grated Ginger
Glove Garlic
Coriander
Coconut milk/cream
Veg Stock
Thai Green Chilli Paste
Peel butternut and dice into cubes. Gently saute the onion, garlic and ginger in some olive oil. Add butternut and saute a little longer. Add salt, some veg stock powder (preferably marigold available from most health stores) and sufficient water for a nice consistency. When butternut is softened add some cocount cream or coconut milk (as much as you like) and allow to simmer for a short while. Then blend with a hand blender and taste, adjusting the seasoning according to your taste. Serve with chopped coriander as seasoning.
As always, we welcome your feedback and comments so please feel free to contact us via telephone, email or fax. All details are listed on our website at www.carolenevin.co.za.
Kind regards,
