About Us

I started painting textiles from my garage in 1993, it is hard to believe that 17 years have passed! It all started with a desire to earn a good living doing something creative and contributing to poverty alleviation in South Africa. I was not trained in textiles and if I look back over the years, many of them tough I realize that it was pure passion for colour and design and sheer determination to create something beautiful that forged the path to where we are today.

My business grew into a family business and this is the solid foundation on which it rests. We now employ 40 people. The people that work for us are vital to the success of this business. Everything is hand painted/printed and handmade, therefore very labour intensive.

We are very proud to have the opportunity to train and employ many previously disadvantaged individuals both locals as well as from other African countries, many of whom come from a local squatter camp. As such we have a policy of job creation and training especially for unskilled or semi-skilled workers and in our small way we contribute to redressing the ills of the past regime and poverty in Africa

We have two retail stores in Cape Town and have been exporting for a number of years and only recently have started wholesaling in South Africa. We also exhibit our beautiful products all over the world at various trade shows. The beautiful hand-painted range covers a wide variety of products such as tablecloths, table runners, serviettes, placemats, aprons, tea cosies, oven gloves, potholders, tray cloths, tea towels, tea nets, shopping bags, cushion covers, duvet (quilt) covers, pillows, curtains, laundry bags. These product come in exciting range of designs including African/Tribal, Botanical, Beach House, Floral, Mediterranean, Mexican and Contemporary.

I think for me the most exciting part of the business lies in design and product development. We produce everything ourselves and are proud to be 100% Proudly South African. We have a vibrant and exciting range of table linen, kitchen accessories and have expanded the range to include bed linen and curtains. The whole process summerised...

Paint is mixed according to our very own formulas for each colour and fabric is cut according to item that is going to be made.

The product is then painted or printed by hand, various techniques are used (i.e. brushes, nozzles, sticks for scratchings)

After the product has dried it goes to curing where it is placed in a  large oven at a temperature of approx. 170 degrees celcius

Once it comes back, it's sewn by our highly skilled seamstresses who make sure that your product will last you for a very long time to come....

And lastly,  it is beautifully ironed, packaged and ready to be put on the shelves.
